At the end of the month, Husband and I are moving to a new apartment. SO EXCITED. When we initially moved to the Seattle area, and before we were familiar with the area, we just found a place to live close to where we both worked, which was in Bellevue. It’s only 15 minutes east of Seattle, just over the bridge, but we quickly realized that we needed to be on the OTHER side of the bridge.
Not that Bellevue is terrible. It’s actually quite nice. But maybe too nice? Parking lots and strip malls galore! I admit, I love living next to Target and never having to deal with finding parking. But if you’re moving from Houston to a metropolitan city, you want to live in a REAL city. Where you can WALK to things. And there’s stuff going on around you all the time. And you can stumble home from a bar by foot. And sometimes, a couple of homeless people at the corner can add some character to your neighborhood, amirite?
So at the end of the month, we’re moving in Seattle proper. Into a LOFT apartment. A NEWLY BUILT loft apartment. A block from Trader Joe’s!
Ok, maybe we still like nice things and we’re not exactly roughing it.
So in Houston, we had a 2600 sq. ft. home. When we moved to Seattle, we moved into an 1100 sq. ft. townhome, which was a bit of an adjustment. Our new apartment is 800 sq. ft. We will be living in a place that is less than 1/3 of our original house.
And I’m very excited about it. There’s something very liberating about having a minimal amount of belongings.
As a result, I purged my closet. Which means–
Trying to get rid of everything quickly and before we move, so I put up a bunch of stuff and marked everything at 10 bucks. If I don’t get rid of it by the end of the month, it’s going to Goodwill.
I didn’t take modeling photos or measurements, so if you have questions, please ask!
